I worked with Yumi Lynch at Vantage Mortgage group to do a refinance of our home mortgage. I started the process a bit flustered - because we had just started the efforts with a different lender, the appraisal process was a nightmare, and other frustrations.Yumi took great care of us, was exceptionally fast in her responses, and generally gave us great advice throughout the process. She was always happy to explain things to us, double check rates, etc.All in all, we had a great experience with Yumi and Vantage Mortgage Group. Andy W. Harris was a dream to work with. We were originally going with one of the Big Banks for our Home Loan but had a really hard time getting them to respond when we needed them. Our Agent recommended going with a Local Lender because of how quick the turn around times had become in the wild COVID market. We are so glad we went with Vantage Mortgage. Andy responded to every email within a few hours (usually within a few minutes!) and was always ready to hop on the phone when we needed more explanation. Yumi and the Team with Vantage Mortgage Group, Inc. provided excellent service with our refinance. We had lots of questions and were very impressed with Yumi’s patience. We met in a large private conference room where Yumi was very well prepared to explain how our refinance would work, showing total costs, total payments, interest and what type of loan would best fit our situation, all without feeling time-pressured. Yumi used a large screen to display the numbers, which made it so much easier to look, talk, and think, again without the pressure. As we narrowed down our best options, Yumi let us know the next steps, timelines and exactly what to expect with no hidden costs or surprises. When the loan application process began, Yumi again was fully available and remained in close contact throughout the entire process, which was much quicker than I was expecting, considering all the refinance activity taking place today. Yumi was 100% committed to exceeding our expectations, and promptly answered any and all questions without leaving us waiting. We were thrilled when our loan closed, and almost at the last minute, we asked for a small change, which Yumi handled without any issue. We were so happy with the rate and terms that we, after careful thought, decided to take a small cash out to cover some home improvements. All together, our initial meeting, subsequent follow ups, application process, and final closing were excellent. I have little patience for phone tag, back and forth, and long delays and get easily stressed with a long, drawn out process. Thanks to Yumi and Vantage Mortgage, I had no worries. Working with Yumi was great! Very clear communication and always willing to give me an update and answer questions if I wasn't sure where we were at in the process. Seemed like the turn around on her end was really fast as well so I never had to worry too much if forms were submitted right or if there would be any issues. I used her both when I bought my house and then again when I refinanced since it went so well the first time. In fact, main reason I knew to refinance is that she sends out some notices here or there on the state of the market, and after a brief follow up found I could get a rate that was a full two points off. I ended up saving about $240 in expenses monthly because of those email updates. Really can't speak highly enough of the experience and the result.

This review is for Yumi Lynch of Vantage Mortgage Group.Buying a home is very stressful and you need a village to get you through it. Your realtor plays a vital role in this process but the next person in line is your mortgage broker. It is not enough that you find someone gives you the best and lowest rate but for someone like me who is very detailed oriented and wants to know why, when, how and what, you need someone who is knowledgeable and also patient. On top of that, someone who is looking out for you as well throughout the process. Yumi is all that and more. She was always available, never rushes, willing to answer any type of questions and ready to share her practical experiences along the way which I found very helpful. Not everything is textbook, it is always good to mix practical and theoretical to get to the best approach.My buyer needed a quick close and Yumi was on top of her game, making sure that the loan processing was moving along in the right direction at the right pace. She empathizes the fact that closing involves such a big expense that she would find means here and there to make sure we are cutting cost and getting the best deal. She does her due diligence and is not afraid to do extra work to make sure you get the best deal. I shopped around for brokers and im glad I ended up with Yumi. I strongly recommend her and I will use her again the future.

My wife, kids and I have lived in our house since 2007. While raising a family, working, and going to college simultaneously, we accumulated an abundance of student loan and consumer debt. Shortly after purchasing our house in 2007, the housing crisis of 2008 came about and we lost about $100,000 in equity. We rode the storm, and continued to make all scheduled mortgage payments on time as the house was always priority number one.Fast forward to Fall/Winter 2019, and our home had appreciated in value substantially since our original purchase in 2007. Between that and making our payments to reduce the principal balance, a large amount of equity in our home had grown. I knew Chris Borg (with Vantage Mortgage Group, Inc.) from my local leads group Chapter of LeTip (Tigard/SW Metro), and had gained trust in him even prior to deciding to explore refinancing our home to see about improving our financial outlook. Little did I know when first meeting him, just how much Chris Borg would help us out with our future goals…We began the process of shopping mortgage rates with Chris. He helped explain the process, the pros/cons of different packages being offered, and professionally steered us toward an option that was in our best interest. Between the historically low interest rates being offered, and the equity in our home, the timing couldn’t have been any better to pull the trigger on a home refinance that could change our life as we knew it.We closed our refinance with Chris Borg at the end of November 2019, and had an excess cash to close check that helped us pay off roughly 75% of our student loan and consumer debt. Our monthly cash flow improved immediately by $2,100 per month from our refinance with Chris (by not being drowned by monthly debt payments), and allowed us to more manageably tackle the remaining 25% of student/consumer debt that will now be paid off much faster. We went from living paycheck to paycheck paying on debt payments with no end in sight, to now looking at being debt free (other than the mortgage payment at a very low interest rate of 3.25%).Although the speed at which we were making progress on that remaining debt has slowed a bit (due to my wife being furloughed due to COVID), we can survive, manage, and still make progress without fear of losing everything. Even though we planned to refinance well before COVID, it unknowingly lined us up to weather yet another storm like happened in 2008.Our family is truly forever grateful for Chris and his service that he provided to us. He helped us to catch the wave, and to weather the storm…and I feel blessed to have met such a valuable mortgage resource we can now consider family.

After we were nearly 3 months in to the refi process with another mortgage firm that didn't seem able to close our refi, I called Vantage. Chris said he had a refi program with a fast approval process, and if we qualified could close the loan quickly. He estimated we could close in 6 to 8 weeks, at the worst. Chris kept us informed and we promptly provided all info he requested on behalf of the underwriters. All total, we signed loan docs in less than 30 days -- start to finish. Chris, under-promised and over-delivered -- very pleased with the fast loan close.

I have refinanced a few different times in my life and this time was probably the best experience I have had. #1 Andy Harris was on top of it all the time. Always kept me in the loop constantly. He replied back to everyone of my emails within minutes and picked up the phone when I called. #2 I got a really good rate that beat out any other companies. #3 I had some crazy hold ups and detours due my divorce and Andy literally took the wheel and negotiated with the title companies and the lien holders to get what I needed that was holding me back. These guys think outside the box and find solutions. 100% recommend Vantage!

I cannot say enough good things! We worked predominantly with Yumi and a little with Andy while buying a home in Salem, Oregon. Both were incredibly responsive. For example, when we needed a new offer letter or had a question we generally recieved a response in 15-30 minutes, even during evening hours. This was appreciated because in a hot market, you often need to make offers and negotiation-related decisions quickly. I did some rate comparisons before choosing a lender and found that their rates were generally lower than others. As first-time home buyers, we had a number of questions and Yumi was always very helpful in providing valuable information up front and helping us weigh the pros and cons. First off, I have to say that this team is AWESOME!! Amanda and Liz are the epitome of professional and responsive!!A bit of background- I had paid off all of my debts after selling my old house, but my credit score was still not where I thought it should be. Amanda thought the same thing and did a little digging. She was able to uncover that I had a medical bill that went to collections during my move across the country, unbeknownst to me. She was able to give me amazing guidance on how to get that removed. Once I was able to talk to the collection agency to get that deleted from my record the credit score went up 100+ points!!!! AMAZING!Fast forward to actually putting offers in on houses, yes myriad houses! This team is second to none! If I asked them to run numbers on this property or that property I knew that those numbers would be waiting in my inbox in a timely manner. They were there to talk to the listing agents to make sure they were representing us as best as possible. This made a difference and I believe that it was one reason the sellers accepted our offer.They always had kind, supportive words to get us through this crazy Portland market. Even when we were rejected 4 other times they kept telling us that "the right house is out there and you will find it!" As hard as it was to accept the rejection they kept us going.Now on to the Corona-virus craziness! This team called me multiple times as rates were bouncing all around once the offer was accepted. They gave me all the information I needed to make educated decisions on the best product. Once I decided to lock in they took over and kept us updated throughout the entire process. Even when there were some things that might have delayed our closing they kept in contact and we were able to bring this 11 month adventure to a close (figuratively and literally!!). I highly recommend this team as they are there to make sure you get what makes sense to you and your situation!

We recently wanted to take advantage of the low interest rates and decided to refinance. Todd Gydesen helped us with our home a few years ago, but had moved over to Vantage. We started with our original lender, but did not have a great experience with their customer service. Thankfully, I kept Todd’s email with new contact information.

He has excellent customer service and explains things very clearly. He kept an eye on the market and offered a better rate. His team worked really fast and the whole process was seamless.

My husband & I were wanting to move from Colorado to Oregon. We are self-employed, which is a time-consuming process when verifying income. Several years ago, I had owned my own mortgage company, so was very familiar with the mortgage process. However, when trying to purchase a residence in OR- we knew no one, so relied upon the recommendations of our Realtor- that was a giant fiasco and total waste of time! We were extremely frustrated at this point and felt like just a # - we highly recommend avoiding the likes of Academy Mortgage and Caliber Home Loans! I decided to find our own lender and did a thorough Google search and found Andy & Vantage Mortgage. What a night & day difference! He immediately responded to our inquiry (on a Saturday afternoon), requested we email him our information and promised to get the process started immediately. Andy & his team definitely delivered & consistently provided open lines of communication, were always very professional, as well as very informative. This company is very transparent in disclosing all costs associated with obtaining a mortgage- and very fair! Keep in mind, all of this was done while still in Colorado.
